Telangana Rashtra Samiti politburo member Nayani Narsimha Reddy on Saturday stated that governance of Nizam was better than Seemandhra leaders.
Speaking after hoisting the national and Telangana flags at TRS Bhavan to mark the Hyderabad Liberation Day, Narsimha Reddy said that compared to Seemandhra leaders, the administration during Nizam’s tenure was good and the region was well developed in his rule. He lauded Nizam’s foresight in establishing hospitals, courts, administrative offices, construction of irrigation projects and well planned roads.
After merger of Telangana region with Andhra, he said that the Telangana region started facing problems like scarcity of water, shortage of funds, unemployment and finally lost everything to Seemandhra leaders including mines and minerals.
Stating that administration in the region has been paralysed, he demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy resign to his post if he was a believer of democratic values. He said that the people of the region would teach a fitting lesson to the Congress party and asked Kiran Kumar Reddy to get ready for the mid-term polls.
The TRS leader reiterated that the agitation for statehood would be intensified to liberate Telangana region from Seemandhra rulers. About 200 activists participated in the programme.
