Investments Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday unleashed his anger over his cabinet colleagues from the region by describing them as ‘betrayers’ of Telangana.
Talking to reporters, Venkat Reddy said that Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha and Ministers Danam Nagender and M Mukesh Goud have betrayed the people of Telangana by not resigning to their posts. By sticking to their posts, he said these three ministers have tried to dilute the intensity of Telangana movement. They tried to give an impression that there was no unanimity within the leaders of the region with regard to Telangana.
However, the Minister said that the statehood for Telangana was inevitable and it would soon be a reality. He said that there were clear indications that the Centre would take a favourable decision in the next two weeks. “In case the Centre fails to take a concrete decision on Telangana, then all ministers from the region should submit their resignation letters directly to the Governor,” he said.
In a strong worded statement, Venkat Reddy warned the Seemandhra leaders of dire consequences if they continue to question the formation of Telangana state. “If we decide, then we can even stop the entry of all Andhriates in our region,” he warned. He said the Seemandhra leaders would not be allowed to move in Telangana if they do not stop making provocative remarks.
The Minister asked Seemandhra leaders to respect the sentiments and aspirations of Telangana and cooperate for the formation of separate Telangana state.
