Congress MP from Bhongir Komatreddi Rajagopal Reddy on Saturday refuted the reports that he was inclined towards joining the YSR Congress party.
Talking to media persons, Rajagopal Reddy said his recent meeting with Kadapa MP and YSR Congress party YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was 'purely personal' in nature. "Jagan is my friend and I met him for personal reasons. There is no politics involved in our meeting," he said.
While claiming that he had no plans to join the YSR Congress party, the Bhongir MP said "anything could happen in politics". "His father has brought the Congress party to power twice and there is nothing wrong in meeting him," he said. Further, he said, since nothing is predictable in politics, it is quite possible that Jagan Mohan Reddy might come back to Congress fold.
However, Rajagopal Reddy said presently his focus was Telangana. "We are actively participating in the Telangana movement and as of now, we have no other agenda than achieving statehood for the region," he said.
