The Central Bureau of Investigation Special Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing on the CBI's petition seeking the custody of former Karnataka minister and mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy for 15 days to Thursday.
The Special Court after hearing CBI’s petition directed Gali’s counsel to file a counter petition before it by Wednesday evening.
The court also directed the investigating agency to submit all key documents, cash, jewelry and other records seized during the in Bellary and Bangalore before the court. The court asked the CBI to submit a comprehensive report on the need for seeking Gali Janardhana Reddy custody for 15 days.
The court asked the probing agency to file a counter petition on Gali Janardhanan Reddy and Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) director B Srinivas Reddy bail petition. Meanwhile, Gali’s counsels argued that there was no need to send him to CBI custody as the remand report was incomplete. They also appealed to court to direct the CBI to produce substantial evidences on the basis of which he was arrested.
After hearing of arguments and counter arguments, the Special Court adjourned the case to further hearing on Thursday.
