Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Tuesday warned the state government of serious consequences if it arrests the employees who participate in the general strike beginning from September 13.
Talking to media persons, Kodandaram said that the general strike was aimed to bring down the administration in the state to a standstill. He requested people from all section of the society to participate in the general strike.
The JAC leader called upon Telangana people to put banners and flexi boards asking those elected representatives who have not resigned not to visit the villages in Telangana region. He asked the Telangana people to boycott the leaders in their villages and foil their programmes.
Earlier, Kodandaram participated in burning of effigies of those elected representatives, who failed to submit the resignations afresh for the cause of separate state in Secunderabad. The Telangana activists burnt the effigies of Labour Minister Danam Nagender and Sanath nagar MLA Marri Shasidhar Reddy at Paradise Circle in Secunderabad for not quitting their posts.
