Vivekananda takes U-turn, withdraw comments on Jagan's case

Former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy on Saturday withdrew his controversial remarks made against Central Bureau of Investigation joint director VV Laxminarayana and Telugu Desam leader Payyavula Kesav.

Vivekananda Reddy on Friday had alleged that Laxminarayana was involved in corruption and was a close relative of Telugu Desam leader Payyavula Kesav. He also alleged that the raids on YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy was a drama being enacted at the instance of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu.

Talking to media persons at his office in Pulivendula, Vivekananda Reddy regretted for making such controversial remarks against them and said that he got wrong information on both of them for making such serious charges. Seeking apology for making such comments, he said the comments were made in emotional disturbed state for tarnishing his brother YSR’s image and his family members.

After paying tributes to his elder brother and former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Friday at YSR Ghat in Idupulapaya on Friday, Viveka said that he was pained over the figuring of YSR’s name in FIR of CBI probe against Jagan’s disproportionate case. He also threatened to launch an agitation to remove his brother YSR’s name from the CBI’s FIR.

However, he took a U-turn in less than 24 hours and withdrew his comments, besides seeking apology.
