Twenty-six MLAs of Congress party owing allegiance to beleaguered YSR Congress Party president and Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday submitted their resignations to MLAs posts and also from party primary membership.
Addressing media persons at Assembly premises former Congress minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose said that 26 Congress MLAs have submitted their resignations to Assembly Secretary Raja Sadaram as Speaker Nadendla Manohar was not available in his office. He said that the Congress leaders have submitted resignations protesting the inclusion of former chief minister YSR’s name in the CBI's FIR in the case related to Jagan Mohan Reddy's alleged disproportionate wealth case.
Apart from Congress 26 MLAs, one PRP MLA Shobha Nagireddy, two TDP MLAs Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy and Y Bala Nagireddy have also submitted their resignations. He said that the MLAs have submitted resignations as they were unable to digest humiliation meted out to YSR, who brought back Congress party to the power in the State for two consecutive terms. He asked those Congress elected members, who are loyal to YSR, to submit resignations.
The MLAs alleged the Congress party hatched conspiracy to tarnish the image of YSR and implicate Jagan in fake cases in the garb of judiciary.
Earlier the Congress MLAs had a discussion at YSR Congress party office and took unanimous decision on submitting resignations. Later they proceeded in a Bus to Punjagutta and garlanded YSR's statue. Later, they proceeded to Tank bund, where they paid rich tributes to BR Ambedkar. After paying tributes, they came to the Assembly to submit resignations.
The MLAs - Konda Surekha, K Satyavathi and Jayasudha - did not submit resignations on Monday as their resignation letters, which they have submitted for the cause of Telangana, are still pending with the Speaker.
