First they hit the headlines by resigning as legislators on July 4 along with others for the cause of separate Telangana. They continued to remain in limelight for a quite long period by abstaining from work to express their love for Telangana.
However, almost all the Telangana minister who deserted their offices has decided to be back in Secretariat. Three ministers - Damodar Rajanarsimha, Danam Nagender and Mukesh Goud did not resign as MLA on July 4 and they were attended to their duties. However, 12 other Telangana minister after submitting their resignations as MLA and even after their rejection by the Speaker, were not attending their offices.
But except Infrastructure Development Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, all others too a 'u' turn and joined their duties. But all of them seem to be suffering from some kind of political uncertainty. A few of them have expressed apprehensions over their re-entry into the 2014-cabinet, if their party returned to power.
Irrigation Minister P Sudhrashan Reddy has opted for ‘darshan’ of Lord of Seven Hills before resuming his duties while Home Minister P Sabitha Reddy and Horticulture Minister Ramreddy Venkatreddy were seen here today entering their official chambers to begin their innings again after a long ‘paid’ break.
Minister for Information and Public Relations DK Aruna had already made her presence felt on the day of cabinet briefing at Secretariat. She was part and parcel of world photography celebrations, while pragmatic Minister for Endowments and Information Technology Ponnala Laxmiah attended an official function at Taj Deccan here today.
Another Telangana minister K Jana Reddy from Nalgonda returned poste haste from Kerala to attend the recent cabinet meeting. The minister cut short his medical holiday in Kerala.
Why did they choose today to report back for duties? Shravana Friday is one of the auspicious occasions that suited them to return to the ‘corridors’ of power.
