Holding Mr Rosaiah responsible for the present political unrest in the state, former minister from Telangana region T Jeevan Reddy on Monday demanded that the Congress High Command initiate disciplinary action against the former chief minister for failing to introduce a resolution on Telangana in the state Assembly.
Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point, Mr Jeevan Reddy alleged that the former chief minister had failed to issue Whip to the elected representatives, despite the High Command having directed him to do so. “If he had issued a Whip and introduced resolution, the Telangana statehood dream would have been realised by now,” the former minister said. Explaining his point of view, Mr Jeevan Reddy said that if any Legislator had voted in defiance of the Whip on the Telangana statehood resolution, the party would have initiated disciplinary action against them under the existing rules and regulations. He also condemned the former chief minister’s statement that T resolution could not be passed in the state Assembly as parties lacked unanimity on the issue. Mr Jeevan Reddy also demanded that Mr Rosaiah tender an apology to the people of Telangana ‘since he is responsible for the present political unrest.’ The former minister also added that, “If the Congress’ position has to improve in the state, Mr Rosaiah must prevail upon Seemandhra leaders to agree to the formation of Telangana state and make efforts for getting a resolution passed in the state Assembly.”
