Telugu Desam Party Telangana Forum member Revanth Reddy on Wednesday demanded a probe into mining permits allotted during the tenure of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy as the state Exchequer has lost thousands of crores of Rupees as revenue and royalty.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, Mr Revanth Reddy alleged that YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy and the Gali brothers’ role in getting mining permits and the subsequent transportation of ore from the mines. “Due to the decisions of former chief minister YSR, the state government has lost thousands of crores of rupees in revenue. The ‘J’ Gang has looted the state with the help of YSR’s decision,” the TDP MLA said. He said that the ‘J’ Gang comprised of Mr Jaganmohan Reddy and the Gali brothers. Mr Revanth Reddy further demanded comprehensive probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into all mining permits issued during YSR tenure and serious action against the guilty. The TDP MLA also appealed to the state government to study the Karnataka Lokayukta reports, which indicted Gali Brothers in the mining. “The money made illegally through the mining has been invested in Sakshi, Jagati publications, RR Gold and Red Gold. The newspaper ‘Sakshi’ has been born out of corruption. It has no moral right to criticise others,” he said. Mr Revanth Reddy further wondered “how those who had starved for the food in Balapanur have constructed posh buildings in Bangalore.”
