T people safe in SA, KCR trying to develop rifts: Tulasi Reddy

N Tulasi Reddy, 20-Point Programme Chairman, on Tuesday ridiculed the views expressed by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao that Seemandhra people would not allow Telangana people to live there.

Picking up the thread, Dr Tulasi Reddy chided KCR for raking up regional feelings and hatred in spite of the fact that people from all the three regions married one another and lived happily.

He told media persons at the Secretariat that KCR must refrain from spreading calumny and mislead the innocent people to gain politically. The senior leader also appealed to the TRS chief not to resort to such unethical and unholy practices in future.

“KCR is trying to develop a rift between the people of the regions for his advantage,” Dr Tulasi Reddy alleged.

The veteran politician pointed out that KCR's son K Taraka Rama Rao studied in Rataiah Junior College in Guntur during 1991-93, later in Pune, Maharashtra and then left for overseas studies.

Dr Tulasi Reddy asked KCR whether this was not a fact.

He also pointed out that former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao, who belonged to Vangara of Karimnagar district, won his Lok Sabha seat with five lakh majority in 1992 from Nandyal constituency in Rayalaseema region. “He was the first to have occupied the seat of the Prime Minister from South India,” he added.

Dr Tulasi Reddy continued, “similarly Telangana leader P Shivashankar won his MP seat in 1998 from Tenali constituency with a majority of over 14,500 votes. Even the so called stormy petrel Nama Nageshwara Rao had his business interests and projects in Andhra region.”

He also made it a point to expose the fact that thousands of Telangana students are currently pursuing their higher studies in professional colleges in Seemandhra regions.

“Every citizen has the Constitutional right to live anywhere he or she chose to reside. A man from Kashmir could live in Hyderabad if he so desired,” Dr Tulasi Reddy said.
