Jagan supporters in Cong will be marginalised: Botsa

Stating that the Legislators who are openly moving around with YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy are being deliberately being avoided in all Congress programmes, Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Saturday said that the presence of some leaders in the Seemandhra Forum delegation which met the party High Command in New Delhi was due to lack of coordination.

Speaking to media persons in an informal meeting at the Gandhi Bhavan, Mr Satyanarayana said that the presence of some leaders close to Mr Jaganmohan Reddy in the Seemandhra Forum delegation was solely due to lack of coordination and would not be repeated.

“Action would be taken against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s loyalists at an appropriate time. The political situation in the state is at present not favourable for action to be taken against them. But action against them is imminent,” Mr Satyanarayana said.

Referring to the separate Telangana statehood demand, the PCC chief disclosed that he has not yet sent any comprehensive report on the situation to the High Command yet.

“I am appraising the High Command of the situation on a day-to-day basis. The High Command too has not yet directed me to file any comprehensive report,” Mr Satyanarayana said.

He also disclosed that he would form a panel of PCC Office Bearers later, as the situation in the state is fluid at present. “The Office Bearers would be chosen after some normalcy returns in the state,” the PCC chief said.

Mr Satyanarayana also revealed that he would tour all districts of the state in the first week of August. “I will start my tour from East Godavari district,” he revealed.

“One of my primary objects of this visit would be to name an in-charge for all the constituencies which the Congress has not won. These in-charges would be given the task of building the party’s base in these constituencies, so that we can wrest these seats in the next elections,” the PCC chief said.

Referring to the threat issued by the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee that any ‘settler’ who does not support the separate statehood agitation would be beaten up, Mr Satyanarayana said that such statements were objectionable.

The PCC chief also revealed that the various cells of the party, like the Minority Cell, the Ladies’ Cell, the ST Cell etc would be shifted to the new G+2 building which is being constructed behind the Gandhi Bhavan, the party headquarters.
