Seemandhra MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy on Thursday stated that the Seemandhra leaders are not ready to agree for the bifurcation of the state at any cost.
Talking to media persons after meeting Pradesh Congress Committee President Botsa Satyanarayana at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr Anam Vivekananda Reddy said the Seemandhra leaders would press for keeping the state integrated and will never agree for any other proposal with the Centre.
The MLA added that the proposal of the common capital proposal propounded by some Telangana leaders was also not acceptable for Seemandhra leaders.
Stating that Hyderabad is the property of everyone and not the ‘Jagir’ of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao, Mr Vivekananda Reddy questioned if Hyderabad will be given to the Nizam if the erstwhile ruler asks for it.
Stating that the development of the state was possible only if the state remains integrated, he said there was no security for the people in smaller states.
Alleging that a section of Telangana leaders have sowed the seeds of separation in the minds of people, the MLA questioned how the people can demand Telangana state and agitate for it.
He also alleged that Congress leaders from have intensified the agitation for separate state only with an eye on Ministerial posts.
The leaders are making provocative statements only to precipitate matters and to get mileage on the issue, Mr Vivekananda Reddy further alleged.
He expressed confidence that the Centre would take a favourable decision on keeping the state integrated.
