Blaming the Centre for the political uncertainty in the state, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has predicted midterm elections in the state. Addressing to Mandal level party workers at NTR Trust Bhavan, the TDP chief has called upon the party workers to get ready for the midterm elections in the event of fall of government.
Accusing the Centre of being responsible for the current political situation, Mr Naidu demanded to take a clear decision on Telangana to put an end to the ongoing crisis. Slamming the Congress and TRS for targeting the TDP, Mr Naidu said the party has already made its stand clear on Telangana. “The final decision on Telangana has to be taken by the Centre,” he pointed out.
Reiterating that TDP would intensify its fight against corruption at all levels, Naidu alleged that the United Progressive Alliance Government (UPA) totally failed in stopping corruption and stashing away of black money. Despite the Supreme Court slams the UPA Government for its failure in bringing back black money, Naidu alleged the government has failed to take any concrete measures to bring back the money.
Mr Naidu added the Prime Minister’s office should be included in the Lok Pal to prevent corruption at higher echelons. Describing the Prime Minister a `rubber stamp’ of All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi, Mr Naidu said the PM remained a mute witness even as 2G spectrum scandal and other scams surfaced.
