Telangana Political Joint Action Committee convenor M Kodandaram on Wednesday stated that the TPJAC will block rail traffic across Telangana region from 6 AM to 6 PM on Thursday as part of intensified agitation for Telangana statehood.
Talking to media persons at TNGO Office, Nampally, Prof Kodandaram said that the Rail Roko agitation is aimed to mount pressure on the Centre for a decision on the separate state formation demand and appealed to all sections of people to cooperate with the TPJAC in making the protest a grand success.
Giving details about the programme, Prof Kodandaram said that Siddipet MLA KT Rama Rao would participate in Rail Roko at Cherlapally station, followed by Medak MP Vijayashanthi and MLA Harish Rao at Nagulapalli station in Patancheru, TRS Floor Leader Etela Rajender at Uppala and Jammikunta station in Karimnagar district.
Responding on Congress In-Charge of Andhra Pradesh Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad’s statement that a unanimous resolution in the state Assembly is necessary for the formation of separate state, Prof Kodandaram said the Congress leaders will have to respond to the statement and thus clear any doubts of the people of the region about their sincerity to the separate Telangana statehood demand. Except the formation of separate state, Telangana leaders are not ready to accept any packages or any other alternatives, the TPJAC chief made it clear.
