Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Thursday continued to endear himself to his party leaders by carrying on with the trend of defending their controversial statements or actions. Mr Satyanarayana, who had rushed to defend his party leaders like Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, on Thursday defended the meeting between Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao meeting Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy, held at the latter’s residence on Wednesday. Talking to media persons after releasing a publicity poster of the Congress party claiming to provide stable and corruption-free governance and protecting Parliamentary democracy in the country, Mr Satyanarayana said he never took any objection for raising people’s problems before the concerned Minister by KCR. When asked if Telangana Congress leaders took permission for announcing the indefinite hunger fast on the cause of Telangana, the PCC Chief said that they have not taken any permission so far. However, he added in the same breath that he would never object to anyone staging dharnas on people’s problems. “If the Telangana Congress leaders come to me with their problems, I am ready to take these problems before the High Command and make complete efforts to get them solved,” he said. When asked about the possibility of action against YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy on the allegations that he is involved in massive corruption, Mr Satyanarayana said that, “the Law would take its own course.” “The government would never spare anybody and would take appropriate action against all guilty at the appropriate time,” the PCC chief said. Mr Satyanarayana further said that the country would progress on all fronts if law and order situation improves. He disclosed that the Congress workers would distribute posters across the state and create awareness on UPA government policies and schemes. Besides this, the Congress activists would try to remove misconceptions about the party, the PCC chief revealed.
