The war of words between the Telugu Desam Party and the YSR Congress Party continued on Monday with a leader of the former party expressing outrage at the Kadapa MP’s words that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has failed to function as a responsible Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly.
Telugu Desam Party’s spokesperson V Narender Reddy charged Mr YS Jaganmohan Reddy of trying to gain political mileage by blaming the TDP chief.
“Mr Jaganmohan Reddy lacks any understanding of the problems faced by the people and he is resorting to making baseless allegations in order to cover his ignorance,” Mr Narender Reddy told media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan.
The TDP does not need to learn from Mr Jaganmohan Reddy on how to act as a responsible opposition, the party’s spokesperson said. He added that, “We do not need a certificate from the YSR Congress Party president on how stage protests to raise the people’s problems before the government.”
“He has no moral right to criticize Mr Chandrababu Naidu. Mr Jaganmohan Reddy is making baseless allegations in order to gain political mileage,” the TDP leader continued.
Mr Narender Reddy reiterated that the party would continue its fight for solutions to people’s problems. “We are committed to the welfare of the people,” he added.
The TDP leader also predicted that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy would join the Congress party, ‘after he clinches a deal with Congress president Sonia Gandhi.’
“Once he clinches a deal with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he would merge his party with Congress on the lines of Praja Rajyam Party,” Mr Narender Reddy stated.
