KCR has sold out to Congress, no tie with him or BJP: Errabelli

Alleging that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao has entered into a secret understanding with the Congress to ‘water down’ the separate Telangana statehood demand, senior Telugu Desam Party MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Sunday stated that the TDP will never again enter into electoral alliance with either the TRS or the Bharatiya Janata Party. He also accused KCR of selling his party MLAs to the Congress in the Legislative Council polls.

Addressing the gathering on the concluding day of TDP’s annual conclave Mahanadu, Mr Dayakar Rao wondered why KCR has not mounted pressure on the Congress to introduce a Bill on Telangana in Parliament. “Is it because he lacks the guts to do so or is it because of his secret understanding with the Congress?,” questioned Mr Dayakar Rao.

Alleging that K Chandrasekhar Rao ‘sold his three MLAs to the Congress for money in the recent Legislative Council elections’, Mr Dayakar Rao stated that this was evident because the TRS chief has not initiated action against his party MLAs for cross-voting.

“He has sold his MLAs and that is why he had not initiated action the three Legislators,” the TDP leader stated.

Mr Dayakar Rao also challenged Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Convenor Kodandaram to produces the three MLAs before the Speaker to ascertain the truth. “Our MLAs are ready to come before Speaker’s chamber at any time in this connection,” he said.

There is no necessity for the party to enter into a tie-up with either the Telangana Rashtra Samithi or Bharatiya Janata Party, Mr Dayakar Rao stated, adding that the TDP suffered a major loss due to alliance with TRS during the 2009 elections.

“The party will never have tie-ups with any party in the next elections and contest on its own,” he made it clear.

Rejecting the demand for introducing a resolution on Telangana in the Mahanadu, Mr Dayakar Rao said that the party had already made its stand clear on the issue in its 2008 election manifesto.

“There is no need to introduce a fresh resolution on Telangana as demanded by some leaders,” he said.
