EC officially declares Jagan's victory

Due to the massive victory registered by YSR Congress Party leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy in the Lok Sabha by-elections, both Congress candidate and Health Minister DL Ravindra Reddy and TDP leader M V Mysoora Reddy lost their deposits.

Mr Jaganmohan Reddy polled 6,92,079 votes trouncing his nearest rival Congress candidate Dr Ravindra Reddy by a majority of 545501 votes, as per the results declared by Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal at the Secretariat on Friday.

Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s mother YS Vijayalakshmi made history in Pulivendula Assembly elections polling 1,10,098 votes defeating her nearest rival and brother-in-law, Congress nominee YS Vivekananda Reddy by claiming a majority of 81,284 votes.

Congress nominee DL Ravindra Reddy, TDP candidate Mysoora Reddy who fought for the Kadapa seat against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy and TDP candidate for Pulivendula assembly seat Mareddy Ravindranath lost their deposits as they did not get one sixth of votes polled, said Mr Bhanwar Lal who detailed the media persons.

The Congress leader polled 1,46,578 votes while TDP candidate polled 1,29,557 votes.

For Pulivendula Assembly seat, Ms Vijayalakshmi secured  a land slide victory, getting 1,10,098 votes while her nearest rival YS Vivekananda Reddy got 28,725 votes. The TDP nominee M Ravindranath Reddy who lost his deposit managed to secure 11,239 votes.
