Alleging that Kadapa Superintendent of Police Tarun Joshi had acted like the stooge of YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy during voting day for the Kadapa by-elections, Congress MLA from Kamalapuram Veerasiva Reddy on Tuesday said that he would be meeting Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar to bring a Privilege Motion against the police officer. Talking to media persons at Assembly premises, Mr Veerasiva Reddy alleged that the SP had put him under house arrest and had not allowed him to oversee the voting. He further alleged that the district SP had encouraged YSR Congress activists and rowdy-sheeters during the voting for the by-elections, thereby acting like Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s stooge. “The SP had sold out himself out to Mr Jaganmohan Reddy for the sake of money. I will lodge a complaint against him. I will also seek to bring a Privilege Motion against him, after discussing it with the Deputy Speaker,” Mr Veerasiva Reddy stated. The MLA continued, “despite the connivance of the officials, Mr Jaganmohan Reddy would not get a majority of two lakh votes.” However, he hastened to add that the Congress candidates would win in the Kadapa and Pulivendula constituencies. “Mr Jaganmohan Reddy should transfer all his property to my name if he gets below two lakh votes. However, if he wins by a majority of over two lakh votes, I will transfer all my properties in Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s name,” the Kamalapuram MLA challenged.
