CM claims success on management of state's finances

The state government on Saturday claimed that its financial discipline and achievement in the targeted mobilisation of resources came in for praise from the Planning Commission.
According to an official statement, the Planning Commission praised the state government during a discussion with the Chief Minister on the financial matters of the State while finalising the State's anuual plan outlay and also discussed about the preparedness of the State for the 12th Five Year Plan.
The Chief Minister said the successful implementation of the Fiscal Responsibility and Budgetary Management (FRBM)- a prudent financial management of mopping up of resources and their judicious deployment has continuously decreased fiscal deficits and eliminated revenue deficit altogether in the State.
He said that in spite of financial constraints and launching a number of welfare programmes involving thousands of crores of rupees, Andhra Pradesh never violated the norms under the FRBM for the last several years.
Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy said keeping in view of the preparatory arrangements for 12th Five Year Plan by the Planning Commission and the Government of India, the State is also gearing up for the activity and involving some of the Government departments/academic institutions in consultation with various implementing departments in identifying the appropriate growth strategies and preparing Strategy papers for its effective implementation.
The actions already initiated by the State Government include Sector and sub-sector wise analysis of the GSDP data for the last 10 years and forecasting for next two years. Analysis of data of Integrated Child Development Scheme /Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan /Rural Water Supply /Total Sanitation Campaign /Backward Mandals /Commercial Tax and identification of gaps for preparation of Action Plan.
The Chief Minister said he also explained to the Planning Commission about the preparation and circulation of standard tables and graphs for analysis of district economic and social data for preparation of district development plan to all districts.
He said establishment of an integrated data system for the State with networking of all district CPO offices with central server in Planning Department.
The Chief Minister said of the following Working Groups to support preparation of 12th Five Year Plan for the State will be established like Working Group on Agriculture Sector, Working Group Industry Sector, Working Group on Services Sector including Employment, Working Group on Social Sector including Health and Nutrition, Working Group on Education, Working Group on Infrastructure and Investment Promotion, Working Group on District Planning and Working Group on State’s Tax and Non Tax Revenue
