The Chief Minister, Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, raiding a scooter to inaugurate teh driving test track at RTO Office near Uppal in Hyderabad on Monday. For a change the Chief Minister, Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, has come out of the shell of the bullet-proof vehicles and had a ride on a gear-less two-wheeler.
The occasion was inaugurating the most modern driving track at Uppal on the Hyderabad city outskirts on Monday. The Road Transport Authority (RTA) officials have appealed to the Chief Minister to inaugurate the driving testing track and enlisted the programme on Monday’s tour schedule of Dr Reddy. Accompanied by the Minister for Health, Mr Danam Nagender, and the Minister for Major and Minor Irrigation, Mr Ponnala Lakshmaiah, the Chief Minister arrived at the driving track in Uppal area on the city outskirts on Monday morning and took every one by surprise when he offered to drive the gear-less two-wheeler to inaugurate it.
What is significant is that the Chief Minister has been exemped from the rule of wearing a helmet while taking a driving test in the track. Another noted aspect during the Chief Minister’s test ride on the two-wheeler is the security personnel had a tough time to run along with the vehicle and guard him from falling.
