Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday appealed to the Election Commission to take all measures for conducting the by-elections in Kadapa and Pulivendula constituencies in a free and fair manner.
In a letter addressing to the Election Commission, which was released to the media, the TDP president urged Election Commission to conduct byelections in a peaceful manner, which was known for election malpractices.
He also appealed to the Commission to appoint Central observers in all the constituencies in Kadapa to prevent rigging and unfair practices.
He also requested the commission to install high resolution CCTV cameras instead of webcams to closely monitor the election process.
Naidu, in his letter stated that additional forces should be deployed at all polling booths to prevent rigging, booth capturing and other malpractices.
Meanwhile Telugu Desam senior leaders Chandrasekhar Rao and Kalavenkata Rao appealed to the Election Commission to take all effective measures to conduct the byelections in a congenial atmosphere.
In statement to media, the TDP leaders condemned the pelting of stoneson their leader’s convoy during his road show in Kadapa and stated that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s supporters were resorting to these types of cheap tactics.
They also said that the TDP candidates will win in the by-elections and both the Congress and Y S R Congress Party candidates will bite the dust.
