Meanwhile another leader Shobha Rani on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission that party president K Chiranjeevi has no power to merge his party with the Congress.
In her petition, Ms Shobha Rani said that Mr Chiranjeevi had taken the decision to merge the party with the Congress unilaterally and with selfish interests.
Appealing to Mr Chiranjeevi to reconsider his decision on merger, she threatened to launch hunger fast within a week if he fails to withdraw the merger plans.
