Telugu Desam Party leaders, led by its Deputy Floor Leader Motukupalli Narishimhulu on Tuesday urged the Returning Officer for Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency to prosecute former MP and YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy for filing a false affidavit and suppressing facts before the authorities as per the Representatives of Peoples Act, Guidelines of ECI and as per the provisions of the IPC.
The TDP leaders pointed out that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy had intentionally filed a false affidavit suppressing facts about his assets thereby defeating the purpose of affidavit on assets as enunciated by Supreme Court. While some assets were not reported, others were undervalued quite deliberately, the TDP leaders claimed.
Besides, there were several discrepancies in the affidavits filed b Mr Jaganmohan Reddy in 2009 and 2011 elections and also when they were compared with those filed by his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy in 2004 and 2009 elections, they further alleged.
In the 2011 affidavit filed by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, it was shown that he had received a gift of Bhakarapuram land – 6.65 acres and 4.86 acres from his father. His wife Bharathi had received 19.45 acres from her father-in-law. But YSR had shown only 6.65 acres in Bhakarapuram in his affidavit filed in 2004 elections, the TDP leaders pointed out.
“It is clear that the land not owned by YSR was received by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy as gift which highlighted the irregularities in the affidavit,” they said.
Similarly, while 2004 affidavit filed by YSR mentioned 1180 sq yards of land in Banjara Hills, the affidavit filed by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy in 2009 disclosed that he received 70 percent of 1815 sq yards at Banjara Hills. In the 2011 affidavit of Mr Jaganmohan Reddy stated that this land was gifted to him vide deed registered on December 2, 2008 which was not shown in 2009 affidavit, the TDP leader pointed out.
“Mr Jaganmohan Reddy sold 62 lakh shares of Bharathi Cements to Perficim Company on April 30, 2010 and purchased 1.5 lakh shares in his individual capacity from Sandur Power Company on May 18, 2010 at the rate of Rs 671.20 per share. However 2,38,06,345 shares of Bharathi Cements company which were still owned by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy having a value of Rs 1595 crore at this rate are stated to have a value or Rs 36 crore in his affidavit, the TDP leader claimed.
Some of the fixed assets owned by the family were not shown in the affidavit, Mr Narasimhulu said.
Mr Jaganmohan Reddy also owned a building in Bangalore on 23 acres of land, another at Lotus Pond, Hyderabad which was on land measuring more than two acres, the TDP leader claimed.
Each of these are valued at more than Rs 200 crore which were not mentioned in the affidavit filed, he said.
Mr Jaganmohan Reddy also owned big houses in Kadapa, Pulivendula, Chennai and several other places which were not shown in the affidavit, Mr Narasimhulu claimed.
Mr Jaganmohan Reddy paid Rs 84 crore as Advance Tax for assessment in 2011-2012. apart from this he had not filed any affidavit in the Court so far against the allegations heaped up by Minister Shankar Rao or TDP MP K Yerrannaidu, the leader pointed out.
