Gade sees no wrong in deputing Ministers to campaign

Former endowment minister Gade Venkata Reddy on Monday stated denied that the Congress was misusing the official machinery by deputing Ministers to campaign for the party for the by-elections for the Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies.

Talking to media persons on Assembly premises, the former minister stated that the Congress has not made any mistake by sending the Ministers for electioneering for the by-elections.

Condemning the allegations leveled against the Congress that the ruling party was misusing the official position of the Ministers by deputing them to campaign, Mr Venkata Reddy stated that this was an old tradition. “Deputing party leaders and Ministers to campaign is an old tradition and the Congress has not violated this practice,” the former minister pointed out.

He said that the Centre was dealing with the issue and the state government was not involved.
