The Congress High Command on Saturday directed Minister of State for Human Resources and Development D Purandareswari to campaign on behalf of the Congress party in Sriperambadur and Annanagar constituencies.
The two constituencies have a sizeable Telugu speaking population and Ms Purandareswari has been directed by the party to woo them to vote for the Congress candidates.
Following the High Command instructions, Ms Purandareswari will campaign in Sriperambadur and Annanagar Assembly segments on April 10 and 11, for which the elections will be held on April 13.
Earlier, the Congress High Command had asked Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi to campaign in border areas of Bangarpet, Jagalur and Chennapatna Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu and try to woo the Telugu speaking people there to vote for the Congress or its allies.
