Madhu Yaskhi warns media not to link him with human trafficking case

Nizamabad MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud on Monday warned that he would file a defamation case against television news channels for tarnishing his image by linking him with human trafficking case.

Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point, the MP stated that some television channels were releasing news scrolls linking him with a human trafficking case.

Mr Yaskhi Goud denied that either he and or his family members were involved in any human traffic case and stated that the scrolling across the television screen on the news channels were baseless and were being released with an intention to spoil his image and political career.

The MP demanded that the television channels back their words with clear evidence and made it clear that he would seek legal advice and file criminal cases against them.

Earlier, former RTC chairman and senior Congress leader Gone Prakash Rao had alleged that Mr Yaskhi Goud was involved in trafficking humans with the help of fake documents. Mr Prakash Rao had also stated that the MP had successfully managed to evade the law, despite being involved in such criminal activities only due to his 'reach'. He had added that the city police have allegedly colluded with Mr Yaskhi Goud and not registered a case against him. The Congress leader had also urged the Centre not to induct him into the Cabinet since, if he was made a Minister, he would pose a threat to National security and would leak vital information out of the country.

However, Mr Yaskhi Goud had been consistently denying the charges.

Reacting on the eighth chapter in the recommendations of Justice Srikrishna Committee report, which states that communal and Maoist activity would intensified in the event of formation of Telangana, the MP termed it as baseless and far from truth. He said the Telangana people will not allow those Members who submitting such false report. The MP said the committee submitted such report after succumbing to the pressure mounted by media and Seemandhra elected representatives.

Mr Yaskhi Goud added that the people of Telangana will not allow the elected representatives and media persons to roam freely in Telangana region and boycott them if the separate Telangana state is not carved out from Andhra Pradesh. The Congress MP also added that the people of the region will wait up to May 10 for the Centre to make a concrete announcement on Telangana. Later, the elected representatives will convene a meeting to chalk out the future course of action.

Reacting on the former Maoist and Telangana Rashtra Samithi politburo member Sambashivudu’s murder in Nalgonda district, Mr Yaskhi Goud asked the police to arrest culprits behind the murder and prove their commitment. “I will meet Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy in this connection seeking justice and action against the guilty,” he stated.

The MP also described the attack on TDP MLA C Prabhakar by Agriculture Minister YS Vivekananda Reddy in the House as ‘unfortunate’. He asked the Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar to take action and ensure that such ‘ugly incidents’ are not repeated in future.
