Telugu Desam Party MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao on Thursday claimed that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy left for New Delhi early on Thursday morning since he was ‘afraid’ of facing the TDP, which is pressing for Joint Legislative committee probe into alleged land allotments in the state, on the Floor of the House.
The TDP MLA told media persons at Assembly Media Point that Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy was trying to avoid giving explanation to the TDP. “This was nothing but shirking his responsibility,” Mr Umamaheswara Rao stated.
Leaving the issues raised by the opposition unanswered and making his way to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi shows his commitment to the welfare of the state, the TDP MLA stated.
He said that since the Chief Minister has gone to New Delhi, the least he can do is to take Ms Gandhi’s permission and order a Joint Legislature Committee probe into the allocations of lands to business associates of former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
Turning his attention to Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao, the TDP MLA stated that KCR has failed in his bid to press for the introduction of a separate statehood Bill in Parliament. This was due to the lack of will on KCR’s part, Mr Umamaheswara Rao stated.
Alleging that KCR is cheating people on Telangana state formation without making proper ground work, he challenged the TRS chief not to return Hyderabad without getting the Telangana Bill introduced in Parliament.
Reacting on official candidates losing in Legislative Council elections, the TDP leader stated that some leaders lured voters with money and forced them to resort to cross-voting.
