Guntur MP Rayapati Sambhasiva Rao on Sunday stated that the meeting of MPs convened by Congress In-Charge of Andhra Pradesh Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad on March 22 and March 23 will go a long way in removing the regional differences which have cropped up.
Talking to media persons here, Mr Sambhasiva Rao said that the meetings may prove to be crucial steps to sink differences among the MPs, who have raised an increasingly bitter war of words on the issue of bifurcation of the state.
The senior leader also expressed confidence that the Congress High Command would take a clear decision on the controversial statehood issue only after the completion of elections to Assemblies of five states in May.
Pointing out that though Seemandhra MPs are opposed to the bifurcation of the state, Mr Sambhasiva Rao said that this opposition would not go against the decision of the High Command.
“The Seemandhra leaders will stand by any decision taken by the High Command on the statehood issue. Whatever decision the Centre takes, the Seemandhra MPs will obey it,” he stated.
The Guntur MP expressed confidence that the Centre will consider every nuance and not succumb to the pressure tactics being utilized by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders to get the Telangana Bill introduced in Parliament.
