Telugu Desam Party MLA from Telangana region Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Friday stated though Telangana leaders have given repeated assurances that their lives and properties would be safe after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, some people Seemandhra region living in Hyderabad are opposing the separate statehood demand. He said that these people can go and live in the erstwhile Madras Composite State if they are so inclined towards the state remaining integrated. Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point here, the MLA stated that it was given that Telanganaites would protect the lives and properties of those Seemandhra people who extend support for Telangana formation. However, the TDP leader said that no Telangana leader would guarantee the safety of those people from Seemandhra regions who oppose the bifurcation of the state. He pointed out that the demand for a separate Telangana state is not get the assets here, but to be able to make decisions which benefit the people all over the region. Mr Dayakar Rao stated that though Seemandhra people have a right to live in Hyderabad, question about their contribution to the development of the city remain. “What efforts have they made for the development of Hyderabad,” he asked. Stating that the ‘so-called agitation for keeping Andhra Pradesh integrated’ was a politically motivated occurrence, Mr Dayarkar Rao stated that the public were not behind the Samaikhyandhra agitations. He pointed out that as many as 600 students had committed suicides for the cause of Telangana, but not a single Seemandhra student was willing to give his life for the Samaikhyandhra cause.
