As part of the plans to intensify the agitation for separate Telangana state formation, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee has decided to observe a 24-hour Rail Roko on March 1.
Talking to media persons at JAC Office at New MLA Quarters in Adarshnagar, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee convenor Prof Kodandaram on Friday said the JAC has decided to organize Rail Roko on March 1 across the Telangana districts.
Kodandaram said that all trains to and from New Delhi would be stopped on March 1 as part of agitation.
He said the Rail Roko would be organized with a slogan `Palle Palle Pattala Paiki’. He called upon all Telangana activists, employees and JAC students to participate widely in the programme and make it a grand success.
All village people in districts would stage sit-ins on the tracks and disrupt the train services in order to bring pressure on Centre to introduce Telangana Bill in parliament, Prof Kodandaram pointed out.
He thanked the employees for continuing their noncooperation agitation and also called upon Telangana leaders to launch rallies and dharnas in districts and mandals in support of TNGOs noncooperation agitation.
