CM must step down for failing to implement YSR's schemes: Jagan

Slamming the state government for its failure in the implementation of welfare and development programmes, former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday stated the government has no moral right to continue to rule the state.

Talking to media persons after interacting with members from the Muslim community here, the former MP said any government which fails to protect the interests of the poor and middle class has no moral right to continue in office.

Mr Jaganmohan Reddy predicted the state government will collapse on its own and there was no need for him to pull down the government.

He demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy resign from his post owning moral responsibility for his failure to implement former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s welfare programmes.

Mr Jaganmohan Reddy pointed out to the failure of the government to release arrears of fee reimbursement scheme. He said that the government has failed to release pending arrears of Rs 114 crore for each district in the state.

The Kadapa leader said that due to this failure of the government, students who are pursuing engineering in private colleges are suffering.

Earlier, Mr Jaganmohan Reddy had told the gathering that the credit for providing of four per cent reservation for Muslims in education and job opportunities to goes to his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He said that except for appointing commissions after commissions, no other government in the state or in the country had done anything for the Muslims.
