Senior Congress leader and MLC Gone Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy charged that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao of trying to pull down the government so that more of his family members and relatives get elected to the state Assembly in the elections which would naturally follow.
Speaking to media persons at the CLP Office on the Assembly premises on Saturday, Mr Sudhakar Reddy said that there were still some members of KCR’s immediate and extended family who were not MLAs yet and the TRS chief was trying to get them elected.
This was the major reason behind his efforts to pull down the N Kiran Kumar Reddy government, the MLC alleged.
He said that KCR’s daughter K Kavitha, her husband and his other relatives are in the waiting list and fresh elections would see the TRS chief trying to give them party tickets. Mr Sudhakar Reddy pointed out that KCR’s son K Taraka Rama Rao and his nephew Harish Rao were already MLAs.
The Congress MLC further added that KCR himself was the major stumbling block in the formation of a separate Telangana state, since he is speaking against leaders from Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, even after knowing fully well that bifurcation of the state cannot take place without their support.
Accusing KCR of intentionally targeting the Seemandhra leaders of all political parties, Mr Sudhakar Reddy said that this was being done to delay the formation of Telangana so that KCR has more time on hand to play with the public sentiments.
The Congress MLC further added that KCR was using ‘vulgar’ and ‘unpalatable’ language against the Seemandhra leaders, further harming the interests of Telangana. He alleged that KCR had called the Seemandhra leaders as ‘Ravanas’, and this was highly condemnable.
