Jagan's involvement in Paritala killing

Senior Telugu Desam Party leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Tuesday demanded that the government should order a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the faction killings which have rocked the state during the past six-and-a-half years under Congress rule.

Mr Ramakrishnudu’s demand came in the form of a statement where he charged the Congress-led UPA government of ignoring repeated pleas by the TDP pointing out that former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, his son YS Jaganmohan Reddy and their close family friend KVP Ramachandra Rao had amassed huge unaccounted wealth. He said that the TDP had pointed out that the leaders had amassed wealth to the tune of Rs one lakh crore through money laundering.

Mr Ramakrishnudu reminded that the TDP had urged the Centre to investigate this ill-gotten wealth, made through illegal mining rights. Pointing out to the High Court nod for notices to be issued to the supporters of Mr Jaganmohan Reddy through a petition filed by Handlooms Minister P Shankar Rao, Mr Ramakrishnudu said that his party’s stand has been vindicated.

The senior TDP leader also reminded that his party had brought out a book titled ‘Raja of Corruption’ on the alleged misdemeanours of Dr Rajasekhara Reddy and had gifted this book to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Union Ministers and MPs.

Referring to the High Court’s notices, Mr Ramakrishnudu stated that his party would contemplate pleading in the petition. He said that people like Moddu Srinu and Maddelacheruvu Suri were killed to wipe out traces of evidence of the involvement of the YSR family and its loyalists.

Mr Ramakrishnudu further said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy himself had admitted recently that he had to struggle for 60 days to save Jaganmohan Reddy from being listed among the accused in the murder of an MLA. This is a pointer that the murdered MLA was Paritala Ravi, the TDP leader said. He also called for thorough probes into the land grabbing and real estate mafia in Hyderabad and charged the late YSR with criminalisation of the politics.
