Accusing the Chief Minister of unnecessarily slinging mud at the family of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Anakapalle MP Sabbam Hari on Tuesday demanded that Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy withdraw his statement that he rescued former Kadapa MP from an attack by Telugu Desam Party members during discussion on the Paritala Ravi murder case in the state Assembly.
Mr Hari told media persons that the Chief Minister should immediately withdraw his comments and stop intentionally and continuously targeting the YSR family.
“It is unbecoming for someone who is holding the post of a Chief Minister to speak against those who have already passed away,” he said.
Mr Hari said the Chief Minister was unable to digest the fact that many Congress MLAs and large number of people were aligning with Mr Jaganmohan Reddy and was thus resorting to try and damage the Kadapa leader’s reputation.
Instead of controlling his MLAs and taking action against them, the Chief Minister was resorting to cheap gimmicks, Mr Hari alleged.
He reminded the Chief Minister how former chief minister YSR had laid strong foundation for the his political career in the state.
Mr Hari warned that if Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy does not desist from speaking against the family of YSR, “I will reveal the history how Kiran Kumar Reddy got recognition from the Congress High Command and was elevated to the Chief Minister’s post.”
