PC should stand by his words, regardless of Report: CPI

Communist Party of India state secretary K Narayana on Sunday demanded that Union Home Minister P Chidambaram stands by to his statement on Telangana state formation which he made on December 9, 2009 in New Delhi.

Talking to media persons after inaugurating the CPI party office at Charminar Bus stop in the Old City, Mr Narayana urged the Centre to introduce a Telangana Bill in Parliament without bothering about the Justice B N Srikrishna Commission recommendations, which laid emphasis on an Integrated Andhra Pradesh.

The CPI leader also demanded that the government withdraw Central Paramilitary Forces from the Telangana region as they have created a sense of insecurity among people. He also demanded that curbs on media be lifted so that people know the goings on in the Telangana region.
