Senior Telangana Congress leader Palvai Govardhan Reddy on Sunday found fault with Governor ESL Narasimhan for allegedly interfering in the administration of state government and sending wrong reports to the Centre.
Talking to media persons at his residence in Jubilee Hills, Mr Govardhan Reddy alleged that the Governor was acting like a British Lieutenant General Dyer, who was responsible for the Jallianwalla Bagh massacre on April 19, 1919 and acting like a Dictator.
He alleged that the Governor had sent misleading reports to Centre with the inputs from the State Intelligence and Police, that Naxalites were taking part in the Telangana state agitation.
By interfering in the day-to-day administration, the Governor had violated the democratic norms and had made the Chief Minister’s post irrelevant, Mr Govardhan Reddy charged.
He demanded that the Centre immediately recall Mr Narasimhan from the Governor’s post.
The senior Congress leader also demanded the immediate introduction of Bill on separate Telangana state in Parliament by opting for the Fifth Option which was given by the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee in its Report.
Reacting on the Sixth Option offered by the Panel that Regional Councils should be formed to address backwardness problems, Mr Govardhan Reddy said that the Councils would not serve any purpose as former prime ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi had tried this at one stage. They, he alleged, had fallen in the trap of Seemandhra leaders and relented to their pressure tactics and developed those areas neglecting Telangana.
