The Kiran Kumar Reddy government will be stable for the remaining three years and no one doubt it, Minister for Forests, Environment, Science and Technology Shatrucherla Vijayarama Rao stated emphatically on Friday.
“The government will be stable and it will last five years, even beyond 2014,” said the Minister replying to a spate of questions at a press conference at the Secretariat on Friday.
Fielding a question, he was of the opinion that one cannot find a better government than the KKR governance. “Who can offer a better government,” he shot back. To a question that Kadapa leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy claimed that he would offer a better government, the Minister made light of this remark and maintained that the stormy petrel had himself said that he would be silent till 2014 and that he would not ‘interfere’ now.
Further, the Minister sought to know whether any Legislator would attend Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s Visakhapatnam meeting. As YSR’s son, the Kadapa leader had bright chances. But Jagan as an individual distanced from those ‘bright chances’, Mr Vijayarama Rao said.
Referring to Sabbam Hari, the Congress MP supporting Jagan, the Minister clarified that a solitary MP just cannot pull down the Central government. Continuing in the same vein he recalled how the Minister resigned from the PV Narasimha Rao government over an issue and made clear that PV’s government was not affected by his mere resignation.
The Minister also ruled out the possibility of midterm elections in Andhra Pradesh.
