Hailing the state government’s announcement of lifting all police cases against students and agitators who took part in the separate statehood agitation, Nizamabad MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud on Wednesday demanded withdrawal of Central paramilitary forces from the state immediately.
Talking to media persons at his residence, the MP said did not apprehend any law and order problem in the state even after the submission of Justice B N Srikrishna Commission Report on December 31.
Mr Goud alleged that the Governor E S L Narasimhan and Director General of Police K Aravinda Rao of having played a key role in the deployment of Central paramilitary forces to curb any protests which may arise in the aftermath of submission of Panel’s Report.
He said the MPs would continue their agitation for withdrawal of forces in the state.
Mr Goud further pointed out that the all leaders, cutting across party lines, would agitate for the Telangana state, if the Srikrishna Commission report comes unfavourably on statehood issue.
“If they want to suppress the Telangana agitation, they can first target the Telangana Congress leaders with their bullets,” he said.
The MP added that the Congress leaders are ready to submit their resignations from their posts for the cause of Telangana state.
Mr Goud also lashed out against the Telugu Desam Party for terming the MPs’ hunger fast for lifting police cases against students as `political drama’.
Reacting on the statement of former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy that the state government has totally failed in redressing the farmers’ problems, the Nizamabad MP asked him whether he is finding fault in the farmers’ schemes launched by his father and former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
