Demanding justice in the teacher post recruitments, the B Ed qualified candidates of DSC 2008 attempted to storm the Chief Minister’s Camp Office at Begumpet on Tuesday morning and later repeated their attempt at Congress party headquarters Gandhi Bhavan.
However, the police foiled their attempts and resorted to a mild lathi-charge to disperse the teacher aspirants. They were arrested at Gandhi Bhavan and shifted to a nearby police station.
Earlier, raising slogans against Education Minister S Sailajanath and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the teacher aspirants demanded justice for them in appointments. The police and the protestors entered into a heated argument.
They demanded that the government make a clear statement over the issue before the conclusion of Assembly session.
The teacher aspirants also threatened to picket the Assembly on December 15 if the government fails to take any decision before the Winter Session of the Assembly concludes.
Sensing trouble from the aspirants, the police gave work to their lathis and arrested a few activists.
Earlier, the teacher aspirants had attempted to storm the Ministerial Quarters in Hubsiguda on Monday demanding justice in the appointment.
The candidates stated that they would intensify their agitation until the government takes a concrete decision over filling the B Ed posts under DSC 2008 lists.
