Former minister Damodar Reddy, who was not accommodated in the Cabinet of N Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Wednesday alleged that Chief Minister has cheated the Telangana people by not announcing the Deputy Chief Minister’s post in his Cabinet at Raj Bhavan.
Talking to media persons outside the Raj Bhavan, Mr Damodar Reddy expressed anguish that the Telangana people have once again got a raw deal and injustice has been done to them at the hands of the Chief Minister.
He stated that by not keeping the promise made by Congress party that the Deputy Chief Minister’s post will go to a person from Telangana, the government has cheated the Telangana people.
Mr Damodar Reddy appealed to all Telangana Ministers, who were sworn in earlier on Wednesday at the Raj Bhavan, to work to protect the interests of region and for formation of separate Telangana state.
The former minister also demanded that the Telangana Ministers should resign from their posts if the Srikrishna Commission Report goes against bifurcation.
The Report is due to be submitted before December 31.
He warned of serious consequences, in case the Ministers did not resign from their posts in event of the Srikrishna Commission’s Report is against the people’s aspirations.
