Disciplinary Panel decides on action against Jagan?

Union Defence Minister AK Antony is believed to have chaired a crucial meeting of the Congress Disciplinary Committee in New Delhis on Saturday.

According to sources, the crucial meeting discussed the disciplinary action to be taken against rebel Kadapa Member of Parliament and son of former chief minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Sources say that the meeting discussed the ‘serious violation of party discipline’ by the Kadapa MP in going ahead with his Odarpu Yatra, taken out to console the families of those who died of shock or committed suicide in the aftermath of YSR’s death, and also the programme broadcast on Sakshi news channel which targeted the party High Command.

The television programme had accused the Congress leadership, particularly Ms Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of being surrounded by a coterie and the party’s popularity ebbing away.

According to sources, the Disciplinary Committee also discussed complaints of alleged political machinations by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy to create hurdles in the path of former chief minister K Rosaiah during his tenure.

Observers say that with the Disciplinary Committee meeting and the earlier statement by Union Minister Jaipal Reddy accusing Mr Jaganmohan Reddy of violating party discipline, action against the Kadapa MP will come, sooner than later.
