Condemning the police lathicharge on the peacefully agitating students of the Osmania University, who are demanding cancellation of sub-inspectors recruitment test across the state, former minister Damodar Reddy on Friday demanded that the state government withdraw police forces from the campus immediately.
Talking to media persons at Media Point in CLP office, he alleged that the government was resorting to repressive measures on Telangana students, who are agitating peacefully seeking deletion of 14 (F) clause from the Presidential orders to prevent injustice to Telangana aspirants in the recruitments.
Reddy said the government can conduct the test for police recruitment after the deletion of controversial clause from Presidential Orders and including Hyderabad in the VIth zone.
He suspected conspiracy of Seemandra leaders and police behind ordering of lathicharge on the students of Osmania University.
He also condemned the remarks of Chief Minister K Rosaiah on the journalists at the Jubilee Hall on Thursday.
When a reporter asked the Chief Minister over free zone issue, Rosaiah, who lost his cool, quipped, “You contest elections to become MP and Prime Minister to resolve the issue soon”.
Rosaiah said “I am only representative of the state and how can I say when the Centre would amend the Presidential Order? I am not a fool to delay it.”
“It is very shame to hear such comments from the senior most and experienced Chief Minister of the state”, he said and asked him to withdraw his comments and sought his apology to journalists.
