The free zone issue cropped up once again with the recruitments in the police department in the state due to lack of commitment from the government, stated senior Telangana Congress leader and former minister Jeevan Reddy.
Talking to media persons at the media point on CLP premises, the Telangana leader stated that though the government has sent a proposal to the Centre to amend the Presidential Order by deleting Clause 14 (F) last year to prevent injustice to Telangana people in the recruitments, the failure to take an initiative in this regard has fueled the issue.
Mr Jeevan Reddy stated that both the state government and all-parties should be equally held responsible for the crisis in the recruitment for SIs in the police department.
The former minister also suspected the unseen hands of Seemandhra leaders behind the dillydallying of the government on the Centre for amending the Presidential orders.
“If the government and all-parties have any commitment, they should immediately mount pressure on the Centre to amend the Presidential orders,” he said.
The government should, now at least, open its eyes and solve the free zone issue by placing Hyderabad in VIth Zone and take up the recruitments drive freshly by issuing a notification, Mr Jeevan Reddy stated.
He said the government should stop playing with the lives of Telangana students.
