Srikrishna Committee member-secretary Vinod K Duggal on Wednesday rubbished the statements of Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders alleging partiality for attending the parties hosted by Seemandhra leaders.
Talking to media persons in the National Capital, Mr Duggal said that the Committee would not show any partiality or favour while submitting its Report to the government. He said the Committee would treat all areas equally.
Mr Duggal’s statement assumes importance in the wake of Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader T Harish Rao found fault with him for attending a dinner hosted by Seemandhra leaders.
Harish Rao claimed that attending such parties would raise doubts on the credibility of the Committee among the people of Telangana region. He appealed to Committee members not to attend such parties.
“The Telangana leaders should not suspect my credentials. Though I had food with Seemandhra leaders, I am not doing any favour to them. I will not entertain any difference between Seemandhra and Telangana leaders,” Mr Duggal said and asked Telangana leaders not to politicize the issue.
Recalling that he had earlier spent six hours with Telangana leaders, questioned that would this lead people to believe that he had aligned with Telanganaites.
The member-secretary stated that the Committee would visit the state one more time after the completion of winter session of Parliament.
The Committee is considering irrigation, employment, status of Hyderabad and other issues primary while submitting its report.
He also denied the rumours that the commission has appointed a committee to look into union territory status of Hyderabad.
