Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader Naini Narasimha Reddy on Monday hoisted a black flag at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad as a symbol of protest against the Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations.
Talking to media persons, Mr Narasimha Reddy said that Andhra Pradesh State Formation Day is seen as a day of betrayal of the aspirations of Telangana people. The TRS leader said that the government, by going ahead and celebrating it in Telangana region, has hurt the sentiments of the Telanganaites.
Mr Narasimha Reddy added that not only in Hyderabad but throughout the Telangana region, the TRS’s protest will be registered by hosting black flags at the district party offices.
The TRS leader further said that injustice to people of Telangana region started soon after the formation of Andhra Pradesh. He reminded that the integrated Andhra Pradesh state was carved out with an aim to keep all Telugus together. But this had had an opposite effect, he said, and added that the Seemandhra leaders have managed to use the resources in Telangana for developing their regions.
Mr Narasimha Reddy stated that since after Formation of Andhra Pradesh state, the people of Telangana are facing the injustice in all the fields like in agriculture, irrigations facilities, employments to students and many more.
Senior party leaders took part in the function.
