The 1,149 school assistant posts will also be filled up. This process also will be completed in the same schedule along with the SGT posts, the Minister stated. Once this process is completed, the transferred teachers would be relieved, a long pending move.

Asked about the unrest among the candidates, the Minister made it very clear that the government was strictly following the Court's verdict and that their decision was in the limits of the court ruling.

Stating that this is a major decision, the selection list is under the ambit of the Court's ruling, he stressed.

Asked about the delay, Mr Vara Prasada Rao said that, in a democracy everyone had the right to move the Court and clarified that selection list was being prepared after consulting experts like VP Rao. He added that the Attorney General was also consulted.

This apart, the notification is a big task and, "there was no government interference in this,” Mr Vara Prasada Rao stressed. He emphasised that the whole operation was within the ambit of the Court. The Minister also expressed the hope that the controversy ends here.

Under the Right to Education Act, for every 30 students, one teacher was required and the government was following these norms.

There would be no complaint that there was shortage of teachers, the Minister said.
