Criticizing Seemandhra leaders for foiling the Telangana Martyrs meeting convened at Mahabubnagar district last Saturday, Secunderabad Cantonment MLA P Shankara Rao on Monday questioned the placing of former Chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s portrait in the meeting.
Talking to reporters, the Cantonment MLA said the meeting was organized to recall services of those, who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana statehood.
“How can we place former chief minister YSR portrait, who supported integration of the state,” the MLA questioned.
He also posed a question why photographs of national leaders—Indira Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi --were not placed in the Odarpu yatra of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Mr Shankara Rao sought strong action against those, who are behind the disruption of the martyrs meeting.
He demanded that the Congress party pay financial assistance for those who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana.
