Sharmila stealing the limelight from Jagan. Sharmila Takes Aim at Chandrababu, Emerging as a Vocal Opposition in AP.

YS Sharmila, the Andhra Pradesh Congress president and sister of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has shifted her focus to TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, targeting his failure to implement the "super six" promises made during the recent election campaign.

Sharmila's Campaign: Sharmila has been vocal in criticizing Naidu for not fulfilling the promise of free RTC bus travel for women, which was a key campaign point for the TDP. She drew parallels with Revanth Reddy, the Telangana Congress chief, who had implemented a similar scheme soon after taking office.

Revanth Reddy started the free bus program one week after becoming the CM... But Chandrababu Naidu, despite having been in power for four months hasn’t yet commenced the free bus program," Sharmila stated, accusing Naidu of making false promises to the people of AP.

Sharmila's Threat: Sharmila has threatened to take to the streets if Naidu doesn't initiate the free bus scheme soon. This aggressive stance signals her willingness to play the role of a vocal opposition figure in Andhra Pradesh.

Jagan's Absence Creates an Opportunity: Sharmila's emergence as a prominent opposition voice comes at a time when Jagan is largely absent from ground-level politics, focusing his attention on governance from Bengaluru. This absence allows Sharmila to solidify her position as a leading opposition figure.

Potential Impact on YCP: Sharmila's ability to capitalize on public discontent against the ruling YCP could potentially erode their support base in the upcoming elections. If she can effectively mobilize the anti-incumbency sentiment, it could significantly impact Jagan's chances of re-election.

Sharmila's shift in strategy, targeting Chandrababu Naidu and actively engaging with the public, indicates a growing influence and ambition to become a key player in Andhra Pradesh politics. With Jagan's absence from the political scene, Sharmila is seizing the opportunity to position herself as a credible alternative, potentially impacting the upcoming elections.
